Making Pickleball Playable for All
Adaptive Pickleball enhances the lives of people with physical and cognitive disabilities through playing the fun, social, and competitive sport of pickleball.
Sandy Halkett, and her team of volunteer coaches, teaches people of all ages and life challenges how to play pickleball. Players improve their physical fitness, make new friends and experience the thrill of competition.
Adaptive Pickleball is an accredited 501c3 nonprofit organization (Tax ID 87-4286411) serving the greater Upstate South Carolina area.
PURPOSE & VISION
Adaptive Pickleball provides the disabled community with a fun, social, and healthy way to enjoy the benefits of playing pickleball.
We help people with physical and cognitive challenges improve their happiness, fitness, confidence, and overall quality of life by using the game of pickleball as therapy.
We regularly host free Pickleball Play Days for adaptive players of all ages. For many, these playing sessions provide recreational therapy. For the more athletic players, these sessions feed one’s competitive spirit.
Adaptive Pickleball aspires to change lives through the great game of pickleball.
PICKLEBALL?
Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America. It’s a mix of tennis and ping-pong. The rules are simple, and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for athletic players.
UPCOMING PLAY DAY
Every Adaptive Pickleball Play Day is FREE and welcoming to all players from beginner to advanced. Volunteer coaches are on the court to help teach people how to play and share competitive playing strategies. All equipment is provided from sport chairs to paddles to balls. Interested players just need to be ready to be active and have lots of fun.
